Introduction to Ceramic Hand Building
This four-week workshop will introduce participants to the basics of hand built ceramics, from sculpting all the way to glazing. Weeks 1-2 will focus on building both functional and decorative pieces using basic hand building techniques, week 3 will focus on surface decoration including sculpting, under-glazing, and stamping, and week 4 will focus on glazing and next steps for those looking to continue their ceramic journeys. These classes are intended to be taken consecutively and each builds upon the next. Participants will leave with 2-3 finished ceramic pieces and a solid knowledge base of beginner hand building techniques.
