Great Books Great Minds: Peace Tigers
Great Books Great Minds
Facilitate Reading Group Event Series featuring author Dave Martelon
Each exhibition cycle, we will host Diamond-Michael Scott and a rotating featured guest author – together they will facilitate a discussion around the spotlighted book. During this time, there will be open dialogue with the author to learn the ins and outs of where the story came from, background information, and stories you cannot hear anywhere else. You do not have to have read the book before the discussion, although you can if you would like to!
Our special guest is Dave Martelon. A technology executive by trade, Dave never aspired to write a novel. Nevertheless, in witnessing the trend of separation in society, from the real-world problems of bullying to world conflict, he was compelled to tell a story that relays an important message, namely, that self-love is not selfish.
In this facilitated reading group event, we’ll explore with Dave his book Peace Tigers which looks at the notion of how unconditional love for ourselves can open a reserve of unlimited love and service to provide to others. Inspired by three lifelong interests—the Japanese martial art form Aikido, quantum physics, and world peace—Peace Tigers is a call to action to solve what ails us. It’s a call for more Peace Tigers.
We have the books at the museum if you would like to pick it up before the discussion, but there is no need to read it ahead of time and can be picked up at the time of event.
Only 8 spots are available! Due to the conversational nature of the event, we make sure to not over crowd the author.
