Craftivism
Craftivism is craft + activism. It is using art as a form of communication to address social or environmental issues. It has been called activism for introverts. In the class we will be making our own “No” soft sculptures to remind us and others that healthy boundaries are important, creating our own fabric banners about a social or environmental cause that is important to you, and using embroidery to spread positivity and acceptance to all human beings. If you are interested in using basic sewing skills in activism, this class is for you. No experience required. Beginners are welcome. Attendance at both classes is essential as each class will build on each other in skills and concepts.
