Summer Camp: Storytelling & Character Design, June 15-19

All Summer Camps are held from 9am-12:30pm, M-F  

About the instructor: Owner of Open-Ended Art Classes, Heather Smith holds a Master’s in Art Education and over 6 years of teaching experience. She teaches her own classes and works part-time for Ascent Classical in their homeschool outreach program as an art teacher. She values creativity, collaborative work, and building community through her classes. She believes art making will build creativity, introspection, and problem solving skills in children. 

Bring your stories to life through art!

Campers will design original characters and build the worlds they live in, whether that’s a fantasy realm, an adventure story, or something entirely their own. We’ll use drawing, painting, and mixed media to create characters, props, and settings that match our narratives. This camp is all about imagination, creativity, and learning how artists use visual storytelling.

All art materials provided. Students provide their own drinks and a snack for mid-morning break. 

Summer Camp Refund Dates:

If a camp is canceled by MoA for any reason, a full refund will be issued.

Cancellations from camp participants are as follows:

Storytelling and Character design (June 15 – 19)
Full refund if cancellation is made on or before May 20, 2026
Half (50%) refund if cancellation is made on or before June 1, 2026
No refund available for cancellations made after June 1, 2026

Self Expression and Portraits (June 22 – 26)
Full refund if cancellation is made on or before May 27, 2026
Half (50%) refund if cancellation is made on or before June 10, 2026
No refund available for cancellations made after June 10, 2026

Classic Artists (June 29 – July 3)
Full refund if cancellation is made on or before June 3, 2026
Half (50%) refund if cancellation is made on or before June 17, 2026
No refund available for cancellations made after June 17, 2026

Impressionism and Expression (July 20 – 24)
Full refund if cancellation is made on or before June 24, 2026
Half (50%) refund if cancellation is made on or before July 8, 2026
