Nepantla Panel Discussion
Join us for this in depth look at the concepts and history behind Nepantla (being in between two cultures) in this panel discussion featuring 1) Dr. James Cordova, Associate Professor of Art History, Latin American Art, University of Colorado at Boulder. James is also an artist specializing in the santero tradition of New Mexico, 2) Dr. Khristin Montes – Assistant Professor of Art History at Regis University. Her specific areas of research include Maya art and architecture, Latin American art, Native American visual culture and research methodologies, and intersections between art production and social justice, 3) Dr. George Rivera – retired Professor of Art & Art History, University of Colorado, Boulder. Dr Rivera is also an artist currently creating artwork using soil and indigenous inks as well as an international curator and chief curator of the ARTNAUTS Collective, which he founded in 1996.
The museum will open at 6pm for viewing of the Nepantla exhibition.
