We have many ways for you to get involved at MoAFC!
First Friday Art Walk / Opening Receptions
Do you like to attend our exhibition openings? We can always use help with setting up, hosting, and cleaning up. This is a fun opportunity to meet the artists, introduce people to the museum and help keep the staff available to greet guests. First Friday Art Walk hours are 5:00-9:00 pm. Openings are typically on Thursday evenings. Please call to learn about reception dates if you are interested.
Responsibilities include: All aspects of gallery preparation, i.e. packing work, patching and painting walls, moving walls, and hanging work. This is an active, hands-on opportunity. If you are interested in installations, please let the volunteer coordinator know! Installation occurs five times per year and work is usually done during regular museum hours from 9:00 am-5:00 pm.
MoAFC hosts special events and fundraisers that are staffed almost entirely by volunteers. To join this energetic and fun crew, please call the museum to find out what’s on the schedule at this time!
Be a greeter at our lobby desk and help visitors learn about all of the programs the museum offers. Front Desk employees and volunteers tabulate museum attendance and are responsible for charging admission. Shifts are sometimes available Wednesday – Fridays, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm or Saturday and Sunday noon to 5:00 pm. The availability of this opportunity varies.
