For the past 40 years, artist Terry Maker has been working with, manipulating, cutting, stuffing, shredding and creating mixed media paintings, objects and sculptures from everyday discarded materials such as jawbreakers, dust, shoes, records and books for example. Her work often plays with scale to present a microcosm and macrocosm of our universe at once. She constantly explores larger questions of desire, death, decay, resurrection and how the everyday and the spiritual interact.
