Discover the wonderful world of color with this summer camp! Why does color theory
matter? What is color theory? How can we use it? Who invented it? We will dive into questions like these and more using fun exercises and exciting history. Your children will use acrylic paints to learn the color wheel, how different color groups are made and interact with each other, how to mix primary colors to create a landscape, and how to use specific colors to create an effective composition. We will study famous paintings by Vermeer, Van Gogh and Monet to see how the masters used color theory to create their art. After taking this class series, your children will have a better understanding of how to choose colors not only for their paintings, but also for their outfits, bedrooms, crafts, foods, and many other applications throughout their lives!
With this payment, your child will receive 9 hours of instruction during the course of three 3 hour sessions, taking place Monday, July 24 – Wednesday, July 26 from 9am – 12pm each day.
