June 30
Rock Painting
Rocks are an important part of a river’s ecosystem. They allow small fish to hide from predators and give bugs great protection, too.

Divining rods
When someone is looking for water, perhaps to dig a well or find an underground spring, they may use what is called a divining rod. Using sticks and yarn we will make our own diving rod and go out to search for water.
July 14
Blow Painting
Rivers are affected by different environmental conditions such as wind, snow, and rain. We will make artwork that is influenced by these factors and see how it affects our art.
July 21
Tie Dye Bandanas
Water is important to everything we do, even art! Using water and dye we will make bandanas to take on your next hike up the Cache la Poudre River.
July 28
Fish Prints
What kinds of fish do you find in the Cache la Poudre? How do these fish affect the other organisms in the river? Using paints and sponges, we will decorate our own trout while talking about the rainbow, browns, cuttbows, and cutthroat trout found in our river.
