In addition to seventeen albums and six instructional videos released under his own name, his playing has been featured on dozens of other recordings by some of the best-known artists in the Folk and Celtic music genres.

He was voted one of the “Top Fifty Acoustic Guitarists of All Time” by the readers of Acoustic Guitar Magazine and was given the title of “Master Music Maker” by Warren Wilson College and the Swannanoa Gathering music camp in celebration of a lifetime of musicianship and teaching.
