DESCRIPTION:\nAlice and Helen Dickerson were two women who lived their whole lives “up the Buckhorn” and were recognized as original Fort Collins folk artists. Never married they lived together in the mountains west of Fort Collins until finally passing in the 1990’s. Helen was renowned for her pine needle baskets while Alice was equally famous for her wildlife artistry and primitive collages.\n\n\n\nTheir story is one of fortitude and resilience along with being true examples of early women pioneers who used nature as their canvas. Come and hear Brian Carroll tell their story while he shares more than two dozen of their baskets and collages to get a first hand feel for what it means to be artists from “Up the Buckhorn.\n\n\n\n\n
